Corigliano d'Otranto, about six thousand inhabitants, called Griko also in Koriàna and in the Salento dialect Curiànu , is a lively place with a typical old town. Here you will find perhaps the most beautiful castle of the Salento peninsula Il Castello de 'Monti .
Archaeological finds show that the area was inhabited by Corigliano d'Otranto since the times of Messapians.

Castel de 'Monte : The building dates from the Middle Ages and was in 1500, at the request of Giovan Battista de' Monti , Rebuilt and expanded.
