go "Hotel De La Opera" To be sure, and not to collect a bad experience right at the start, was recommended this hotel.
It is located in Old Town. It is in 5 minutes at the most important points. The hotel itself offers a very good comfort, friendly service and "important" Internet connection free.
From here you can book some trips in the surrounding area. We made a to Villa de Leyva and Raquiera with Don Luis. From the reception we booked quite easily. We were in this case, Paula, who translated us everything and almost everything organized. Unfortunately, the English skills of the staff were almost nonexistent. 1st lesson in Bogota, Come to Colombia, if you speak English or know someone of that makes for you. And always take a taxi, and that an ordering that you are on the center. So at least know the headquarters in what car you are seated and where the trip went. On Sunday we are the Gold Museum . Very impressive. Very small and really create in 2 hours.
it is finally here, one would naturally Colombian food. On every street corner there is the possibility. A tip: Andres Carne de Res . Just outside of Bogota. Take the bus and about 45 minutes on the road. If not traveling with the locals is by taxi. The restaurant is awesome. Typical Colombian food, meat, potato dishes ... does not enumerate all. The best part is, against 20 clock begins the party. , Will take you to dinner afterwards to celebrate yet tidy. All with walk, dance, people drink, and simply celebrate all the time.

In order to have a nice and safe start we stayed at the recommended Hotel De La Opera. Its right in the middle of the old town and you are within 5 minutes walking distance to the most important places. The hotel itself is very comfortable, has good service and not to forget: internet connection for free.
From here you can also book different trips around Bogota. We did a trip to Villa de Leyva and Raquiera with Don Luis. You can book it very easy at the reception. Unfortantely the service team doesn´t speak Englisch that well, so we where more than glad to have our very good friend Paula with us, translating and organising everything. 1st lesson in Bogota: Come here only if you speak English or if you´re with someone who does. And, always take a cab, plus, be sure you order one by the cab central station. Thus, at least this station knows in which car you jumped and where did you want to go. On Sunday we went to the Gold museum. Really impressing. It is small and you can make it in 2 hours.
Are you finally in Colombia, you need to taste the food. There is a possibility at every corner. Our advice: Andres Carne De Res. It is a bit outside of Bogota. You can take a bus. The trip is about 45 minutes. Or taxi again. The restaurant is amazing. Typical colombian food. But the best beside all these huge steaks, potato´s and salats starts around 8 o´clock: Party on Wayne. Everybody starts dancing and celebrates the night together.
